Authors

Yume 2kki has an incredibly large roster of authors! Each portray their own style and themes .. Despite how different they all are, in the end, all their work helps make 2kki the lovely game that it is! There are many authors whose works I love whether it is because of their art style, the emotions invoked by their worlds, underlying storylines, and so on! Here is a list of my favorites..!

Moriwo

Moriwo is my favorite author ever because their sector includes my favorite world in the entire game!!! Gorgeous artwork and gorgeous spritework combined, their locations are incredibly stunning! You'll often find hand-drawn panoramas and pictures overlayed throughout their worlds to add even more to the loveliness .. The concepts they use are also something I find interesting .. for example I like the idea of needing to use the Invisible effect in Dream Pool in order to navigate its labyrinthal entirety! It makes the world lots more ominous and threatening ..! My favorite Moriwo world (and 2kki world) is Azure Garden! A few other worlds of theirs that I like are Garden of Treachery, Foliage Estate, Magical Passage, and Wind Turbine Plateau!

Qxy

Qxy is an incredibly skilled author and is responsible for creating stunning worlds tied together in lengthy routes! Qxy is like .. an RPGMaker wizard .. a lot of his locations contain unique mechanics that differ from other worlds. Some of these include the time limit in Snowy Forest (which the player can mess around with using certain effects), the glitchy transitions of Glitched Butterfly Sector, the randomly generated labyrinth of Infinite Library, and- my favorite- the digital dotted display in White Lily Path A that can take many different forms depending on what effects the player uses! Besides crafting more dreams for Urotsuki to traverse, Qxy is also prominent in fixing bugs and adding quality of life improvements to better the game! My favorite Qxy worlds include Travel Hotel, Windswept Scarlet Sands, Hot Air Balloon World, Viridescent Temple, Virtual City, Wooden Polycube Ruins, Wooded Lakeside, Floating Catacombs, Cotton Candy Haven, and Lavender Waters!

Wataru

Wataru's worlds are infamous for their melancholic atmospheres, many of his locations being abandoned, overgrown, and forgotten. I really love his worlds because the feeling I get from them all is bittersweet; despite how down they seem, there is also something very beautiful about them. Alongside this, Wataru also chose wonderful music to pair with the loneliness of everything! The songs are usually slow .. and calming .. It sounds like visiting an old, distant memory .. My favorite Wataru worlds include Rainbow Silhouette World, Deserted Town, Mirror Room, Forest Pier, Bottom Garden, Abandoned Apartments, Cosmic World, Depths, Hidden Shoal, Industrial Maze, Overgrown City, Overgrown Gate, and the Planetarium!

20

20 is a super duper important author on the team! He is the one who originally brought 2kki to life, meaning he's been there since the very beginning! I think his worlds have a lovely nostalgic feel because they highlight some of the best parts of early 2kki. Despite all of his works being over a decade old, they still remain some of the most memorable and iconic locations in the game! I also adore the NPCs he has scattered among his sector .. They all have such interesting, cute, and wacky designs! My favorite 20 worlds include Ocean Floor, Dark Room, Farm World, Japan Town, Atlantis, Broken Faces Area, Library, Nail World, and Underwater Amusement Park!

2i9

2i9's worlds are well known for their surreal themes, use of body horror, and other such things that may invoke disgust or fear. I love his worlds for how weird they can be!!! I think 2i9 pulls off the surrealism within his works super duper well. A lot of his locations give off a threatening or mysterious feeling to me, which I find really cool! My favorite 2i9 worlds include Overgrown Condominium, Butterfly Passage, Sculpture Park, Ahogeko's House, Basement of Oddities, Deluxe Mask Shop, Sea Lily World, Whipped Cream World, and Stellar Mausoleum!

Noildoof

I believe Noildoof's worlds are best recognized for having more softer color palettes and fairytale-like themes. You can tell she puts a lot of care into her NPCs as well .. You can find many strolling about her sector! I find their designs quite interesting .. they range from knights to aliens to robots to cute animals and so on! Noildoof is also responsible for creating another YN fangame I love, Deep Dreams! My favorite Noildoof worlds include Marble Ruins, Lost Shoal, Twilight Park, Snowy Village, Viridian Wetlands, Monochrome Mansion, Monochrome School, and Neon Suburbs!

Nuaah

Nuaah is an author whose recognizable for having such stunning, isometric worlds! Alongside being a dream architect, Nuaah has also made some incredible music that shes uses in her own worlds! One of my favorite things about Nuaah's sector is the differing themes ... One moment you may find yourself in a place built of sweets and in another moment you may be walking among viscera! My favorite Nuaah worlds include Chocolate Tower, Cube of Sweets, Green Tower, the Void, Herbarium, Calcarina Sea, and Erythrocyte Maze!

Zenmaigahara

Zenmaigahara has a style that I adore! The way I define it is a mix of creepy and cute elements. Zenmai's name may also sound familiar to some YNFG fans .. They are the one who created Yume Nisshi, another fangame that I love lots! Besides the dream worlds that they created, they also are responsible for creating the Bleak Future ending, infamously one of the endings that I, along with many others, find to be strikingly melancholic! My favorite Zenmaigahara worlds include Cutlery World, Visine World, and the Dressing Room!

n3

n3 is an author who not only crafted some lovely worlds, but made some incredible music for them as well! His songs are among the most well-known within the game and are also used by other authors, such as Wataru! I find his locations to be super duper tranquil and beautiful .. Similar themes can be found within his own YNFG, LCD DEM, which is also another fangame I love very much! My favorite n3 worlds include Green Neon World, Cog Maze, and Grass World!

Nantai

Nantai has a sector that I find to be incredibly cute .. I absolutely adore their simple yet lovely style as well! All their locations seem very friendly to me .. You can often find NPCs with cute designs wandering around their worlds .. I'd like to befriend every single one of them!!! My favorite Nantai worlds include Petal Hotel, Flower Scent World, Shell Lake, Visine Spacecraft, Floral Crossroads, and Clover Ponds!

Natl

Natl too has a style that I find to be creepy yet cute at the same time! Although they don't have too much worlds, the work put into each of them really shows .. Their locations are expansive and are set with wonderful themes and their NPCs have such lovely, intricate designs! My favorite Natl worlds include Strawberry Milk Sea, Shop Ruins, Rainy Town, Frozen Disco, and Celestial Night!

Mosenite

Mosenite also has made some incredible music that is not used only by them, but by other authors as well, such as Qxy and 2i9! Their worlds reach for a more cheery and calming atmosphere, which I can always adore! My favorite Mosenite worlds include Bridged Swamp Islands, Lotus Waters, Rapeseed Fields, and the Ceiling!

Oudn

Oudn is another author responsible for setting the atmosphere of early 2kki. Some of their worlds utilize a mix of realistic images that are paired with painterly-like panoramas. The style of their locations can vary as well! I find them to be a mix of cheery, threatening, mysterious, and calming! My favorite Oudn worlds include Realistic Beach, Apartments, White Fern World, Sky Kingdom, and Valentine Land!

Aediorugap

Aediorugap is quite the infamous author among 2kki fans. I believe he gets way too much hate!!! There lots of people who like to call his style lazy, or say he puts so little effort into his worlds .. I must admit I used to be like this but .. I've changed!!! Although some of his work makes me want to punch a wall (Looking at you Omurice Labyrinth ..), I actually find his simplistic style to be quite charming and recognizable! I like how the themes in his sector differ as well .. Some of them are completely wacky and silly while others can be endearingly lovely! My favorite Aediorugap worlds include Moonview Lane, Grand Beach, Wooden Cubes Playground, Totem Hotel, Laundromat, Sunken Treehouse, Snowy Suburbs, and Digital Heartspace!

Shigurin

Shigurin has quite the interesting sector .. At first, I didn't really like their worlds because navigating them gave me a headache and I found the visuals boring but .. I've changed again!!! Although I can't exactly figure out why, some of their worlds make me feel real melancholic .. which I adore! Since most of their worlds are found further out in Urotsuki's dreams, they give off quite an isolated feeling to me .. I find their more simplistic style lovely as well! My favorite Shigurin worlds include the Rooftops, Undersea Temple, Polluted Swamp, and CMYK Tiles World!

Kontentsu

Kontentsu is an author who is well known for having an underlying storyline within their sector! Although many things remain up to speculation, there seems to be something going on between ???-Tsuki and the Liar, 2 reocurring characters that appear within their worlds. I also find the feeling of their locations to be more on the melancholic, yet comforting side of 2kki .. My favorite Kontentsu worlds include Nightfall Park, Bright Forest, Shallows of Deceit, City of Liars, Solstice Forest, Oil Puddle World, and Fluorescent Halls!
